Father Houlihan, handing out presents to the children during the TET (New Year) celebration in Centennial Hall on February 14. Vietnamese Catholics gathered in the hall to celebrate the event, which included food, song, a modified dragon dance, and presents for the children. It was a splendid celebration and the food was excellent! |
|
The Dragon Dance, in modified form, was performed first by the children, and then, by Doug Huyng, the organizer of the celebration and a member of the St. Cecilia parish council. Congratulations Doug! He said afterwards, "My heart can't take it!" |

The pascal candle burns at the steps of the sanctuary during the First Confession ceremony at St. Cecilia's church on February 7, 2010. The candle is a symbol of Christ, the light of the world, received first by the first confession children at baptism, and restored again through the gift of the Holy Spirit in the sacrament of confession. |

Parishioners discussing the registration process with parish directory helpers following Mass on the weekend of February 7. On the first week of signup, 130 individuals and families registered for the photography session. Over half of these registrations were received online. It is the hope of Father Walsh that the number deciding to participate will number over 500! Nevertheless, a great beginning. Thank you! |
